As part of the Vietnamese Startups Networking Series, the Vietnam-Australia Startups & Innovation Association (VASIA), in collaboration with the Monash Vietnamese International Student Club (MVISC), hosted the first talk show of the series under the theme: “VASIA – Empowering Vietnamese Overseas Students to Thrive in Australia’s Dynamic Multicultural.”
Held at Monash College’s City Campus in Docklands, the event attracted a large number of Vietnamese international students and young aspiring entrepreneurs. With the aim of inspiring, connecting, and supporting young Vietnamese in Australia, the event served as a bridge between successful business founders and future changemakers.
The talk show was hosted by Anthony Khoa (EdSmart Group) – a prominent Vietnamese entrepreneur in Australia’s EdTech industry, alongside Yen Nhi, President of MVISC, who represents the voice of active and ambitious Vietnamese youth in Melbourne.
Two special guest speakers – both former international students who are now running successful businesses – shared their startup stories:
-
Ms. Linh Bui, founder of Linh Linh Beauty, shared her inspiring journey overcoming cultural and financial challenges to build a personal brand in the Australian beauty industry.
-
Ms. Yen Nguyen, founder of VietCharm Group, spoke about how she integrated Vietnamese cultural identity into her products and services, winning the attention of Australia’s diverse communities.
The event was moderated by Ha Chi, a current Monash student, representing the new generation of Vietnamese youth navigating their path in a foreign country.
The session provided valuable insights into real-world startup experiences, brand building, navigating early-stage difficulties, and leveraging community networks as a launchpad for success.
VASIA and MVISC are committed to continuing this series of networking and mentoring events to help Vietnamese students turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality. This initiative is part of their broader mission to promote innovation, global leadership, and the entrepreneurial spirit among young Vietnamese abroad.
